Equipo Verde is a community based childrens program centered in the neighborhood of Guápulo in Quito, Ecuador. The idea for this project was inspired by the children of Guápulo and the opportunity for active participation in community development.

Nuestra Misión
Es fortalecer la juvetud de esta comunidad específica para que se sienta orgullo y responsibilidad por el bienestar general del barrio y sus integrantes comunitarios con una enfasís en el medio ambiente. Buscamos promover el manejo sostenible de basura através de acciones comunitarias con los niños. Estas práticas incluyen el reciclaje, el abonamiento, y algunos proyectos locales de limpieza comunitaria. Además, nuestro proyecto busca promover el autoestima de los participantes y crear conocimiento y respecto por las diferencias culturales e interpersonales através de actividades que animan el trabajo de equipo, el análisis crítico, y el placer de sí mismos en un ambiente positivo. Esperamos que este proyecto facilite el desarrollo de lideres juveniles y que integre la comunidad internacional con la comunidad local.
Our Mission
To empower the youth of this specific community to feel pride and responsibility for the general well-being of the neighborhood and its community members with an emphasis on the environment. We seek to promote sustainable waste management through community building with children. Such practices include recycling, composting, and local clean-up projects. Our project also seeks to build self-esteem in the participants as well as raise awareness and respect for cultural and interpersonal differences through activities that encourage teamwork, critical thinking, and enjoyment of one another in a positive environment. We hope that this project will facilitate the development of youth leaders in the community as well as integrate the international community with the local community.
